TV beauty Emily Maynard has finally confirmed that she and The Bachelor's Brad Womack have called time on their whirlwind romance.

In an interview with People magazine, the 25-year-old southern belle told how she and her beau have ended their engagement.

It comes after months of speculation that their relationship was on the rocks, following the end of ABC's The Bachelor series in March.

Blonde Emily - mum to six-year-old Ricki - had caught the eye of restaurant owner Womack from the beginning.

But the pair struggled to get their romance off the ground after the show’s finale, as Womack was living in Texas and Emily was based in North Carolina.

'We're no longer engaged,' the teary-eyed single mum told the magazine shortly after taping a TV interview with The Bachelor host Chris Harrison. That interview will air in the US on July 11.

Stunning Emily, who had left viewers sobbing after revealing how her beloved fiancé had died in a plane crash years earlier, says she became tired of being dogged by tabloid rumours.

She decided to break her silence about the status of her and Womack's relationship in the hope of ending media speculation and to enable her and Ricki to 'move on and get back to normal'.
